fishing fun

History-
I did some fishing when I was a kid. I remember my Grandpa teaching me how to bait a hook and gut a fish. I mostly enjoyed just sitting out on the lake reading, and eating the fish everyone else caught.

Matt became an avid fisherman in middle school and his love for fishing has only grown since those adolescent days.We went fishing once on a date last year and didn't catch anything. But this year is going to be different!

So far we have fished Maple Lake in Payson canyon, Silver Lake in American Fork canyon, and since we live 2 minutes from the marina, we have started fishing in Utah Lake. (That will be a whole different post!)!

We didn't have much luck at Maple Lake (although the people right next to us sure did...) but at Silver Lake we ended up with 1 beautiful, really big trout that I caught, a medium sized trout I caught and a fish that Matt found flopping near the shore. :)

Matt may not have been the best fisherman that day (I was!) But he definitely was the best chef! Baked trout for dinner.....what could be better?

Since Matt brought it up in the last post, here are some pictures of him and his blackberry-
As you can see he is very very talented.

I tease him but I am very proud to be married to such a hardworking, wonderful man!!

More piping!

It has occured to me that with all of the pictures of Camille piping you could be safe in assuming that I do absolutely nothing cool. It's true. I suppose we could put more pictures of me on my blackberry...or laptop...that's pretty cool stuff.

These are from the 2008 Scottish Festival last weekend. Camille was still pregnant and looking as cute as ever. This time I actually snuck a picture with her (it's the last one!).

Please make comments about this post. Blog comments have become very exciting for me and Camille.

the return of the pregnant bagpiper

Last Saturday I marched with my pipe band in the Eagle Mountain parade. (depending on the heat of the summer and the health of the baby this might have been the first and last parade for me this summer)
Matt took this great shot. I love it! Just a bit of a pregnant belly poking out :)

This weekend is the Scottish Festival at Thanksgiving Point. There is a concert and fireworks Friday night, then all day Saturday there are dance competitions, vendors, athletic competiions, clans, and of course bagpipe competions. Add some delicious haggis and it makes for a great day!

The band competions will begin on Saturday after the opening massed band ceremony which is at noon I believe. My band will be competing after 1:30 sometime. (We won't know the exact time until that day)
After my several year Sabbatical from piping I am excited to be playing and competing again.

Tickets for Friday night are $7 for adults. Saturday=$10 or I think you can buy both days for $16.

If any of you are looking for a great time come check it out :)

me and my belly

By request, some belly pictures:

me at 28 weeks

We had our dr appt last thursday and everything is going well.
Things we learned: I don't have gestational diabetes (courtesy of the "delicious" orange soda glucose test)
-we need to choose a hospital
-we need to sign up for a prenatal class (which was nearly impossible
because of our schedule. We are now however signed up for one mid-August....hopefully the baby doesn't come early :)
-oh and we were reminded I need to get the Rhogam shot because of my negative blood type :(

a finished project

Yesterday I finally finished painting all the doors!

(I thought I had finished once before, but somehow missed two doors...............pregnancy=decreased memory or attention ???)

Pregnant Bagpiper

This is the most adorable picture of my pregnant bagpiping wife. I took this as she was getting ready for a show that she and her pipeband played on the Sunday before Memorial Day. Honestly, she looked so cute with her belly and a kilt that is really way too big for her.

Today she is in Manti playing at a funeral. I'm quite proud of her for being so dedicated to what she loves.
